Behavioral Health: Post Partum Support


Details

Open support group. Members can join at any time. 1 ½ hour sessions, every other Thursday, with a general topic for each group. The goal of this group is to create a supportive and understanding environment where new mothers can connect with others who are going through similar experiences, share advice, and find emotional support. Lap child or breastfed babies can attend, space is limited. Childcare is not provided.

April 2: Postpartum Depression, Anxiety and Overwhelm – understanding your experience

April 16: Understanding and Managing Intrusive thoughts

April 30: Mothering the New Mother – responding to emotional needs in the postpartum

May 14: Feeding baby: Breastfeeding experience and/or Supplemental

May 28: Fostering Emotional Connections and Attachment with your Baby

June 11: Body Image

June 25: The Shadow Side of Motherhood – what we don’t talk about

July 9: Practical life: Work/Life balance, finding childcare

July 23: Looking Back – our fears and hopes as mothers in relation to how we were mothered

August 6: Couples Care – maintaining connection and intimacy after the baby is born

August 20: Challenging the “Myths of Motherhood” – being a good enough mother

September 3: Identity as a mother

September 17: Frustration, Anger and Irritability (at ourselves, partners and/or children)

October 1: Connection with others, support for mother

Virtual option offered.
